Hi gigs,

Please help me add the esxi 4.1 to a network.

I wanted to add the ESXi4.1 to office VLAN10 which has a authentication radius server. But I have my credetials on it.

All it is I have no idea how to set this server up in this VLAN. Please give me a suggestion.
Is there a way I add this server by editing the file in esx.

We have planty of windows servers on this VLAN but because we have radius authentication done with our logins. It is bit annoying on Linux.

Please help me.
You help will be appretiated.

Sorry for my typo's

Thank you

Easy way to think about Portfast.... Default is for Cisco to delay bring up a port to check for routing loops (spanning tree). If you enable portfast, you essentially tell Cisco "I know what I'm doing, there are no loops, bring it up right away and don't check". This could be an issue if you have multiple connections to the same host

Since the Cisco ports are connected to vSwiches and not a host, there is no need to worry about spanning tree and you can turn up the ports ASAP. This way HA won't kick in because of a delay in not seeing the network.

Yes, I did set it up as IP-Hash, (as described in the Scott Lowe post) I know nothing about portfast yet... thanks for the tip, because just as soon as I can get my ESX server deployed I have a second one to do HA with. Any sites you recommend about portfast?

I assume you've setup load balancing on the vSwitch as "IP-Hash". And it might be worth looking into portfast for your channel, especially if will be clustered with HA in the future.
